Besides my usual work I try to get used to Emacs and SLIME.

Gentoo 2006 Linux (GCC 4.1.1 and XOrg-X11 7.0)

Posted by Michael on July 1, 2006

Just finished the second software upgrade on my Gentoo boxes. The first was moving to GCC 4.1.1 the second from monolithic XOrg-X11 to modular version 7.0.

Both influence the whole system and upgrading auch stuff always makes me a little nervous. Rebuilding broken system is a time consuming task.

To make it short:

The guys at Gentoo do an incredible job. No problem at all neither with GCC 4.1.1 nor with the new modular xorg-x11 7.0 !
