Just finished the second software upgrade on my Gentoo boxes. The first was moving to GCC 4.1.1 the second from monolithic XOrg-X11 to modular version 7.0.
Both influence the whole system and upgrading auch stuff always makes me a little nervous. Rebuilding broken system is a time consuming task.
To make it short:
The guys at Gentoo do an incredible job. No problem at all neither with GCC 4.1.1 nor with the new modular xorg-x11 7.0 !
